  WHO WE ARE

We are members of a non-profit 501 3c charitable organization located in Redding, California. Our organization is dedicated to the promotion of non-motorized trails and bikeways in the greater Redding area for the health, safety, enjoyment, and economic benefit of the community and its citizens.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to develop a world-class trails and bikeways system that connects Redding and the surrounding area with non-motorized routes for the health, safety, enjoyment and economic benefit of the community

What We Believe in:

Because much of the land in the Redding area with great scenic, historic, and recreational value to the public is either undeveloped or publically owned or both, the area offers numerous opportunities to create non-motorized trails that can exist either in open space or integrated into the residential and commercial development that will follow in some of the privately owned properties. What we believe is based on both what has happened here and in other communities across the country.

We believe that a regional trails and bikeways system benefits the health and safety nearly everyone and contributes to the enjoyment of all users and the economy of the whole region.

We believe that air quality improves when people travel on non-motorized routes.

We believe that trails make neighborhoods more friendly and cohesive.

We believe property values of neighborhoods increase when they are served by trails.

We believe that trail users are more likely to report and deter crime than to cause it.

We believe the recreational opportunities offered by trails and bikeways help communities attract and retain quality businesses and employees.

We believe communities become better places to live and raise children if they are friendly to bicyclists, pedestrians and equestrians.

We believe that local elected officials, appointed planning commissioners, and professional planners should think of trails and bikeways as necessary enhancements to present and future development in the same way that paved roads and underground utilities have been historically.

WHAT WE DO

We are dedicated to the development of a world-class multi-use trails and bikeways system that connects Redding and the surrounding area with non-motorized routes.

We encourage the establishment, development and enhancement of trails and their infrastructure to become an integral part of new development. We work individually and jointly with government agencies, other organizations, and private citizens in a spirit of collaboration to develop a local trail system. We promote public awareness of trails and bikeways and their benefits. We identify areas of scenic and recreational public value and potential future trail routes that lack public protection and advocate for their incorporation into the local trail system. We support and maintain trails and bikeways in the Redding area. We raise funds to help make this dream a reality. We invite you to join us to help serve your community.
