MEETING: Tues, June 24, 7:00 PM
PLACE:
1615 Continental Street, which is
on the east side of the street located
between Yuba and Placer Streets. See
TBC website for map:
www.reddingtrailsandbikeways.org
Agenda:
TBC is inviting discussion about trails
creation through private property and
the obstacles involved in creating a
large interconnecting trail system.
Draft position statements are posted at
www.reddingtrailsandbikeways.org
and we hope the public will weigh in
with comments via email or attendance at
our meetings.
The Gist:
Despite the many community benefits
trails offer, the Redding area trails
system is unlikely to come close to
achieving its potential unless planners,
planning commissioners, elected local
government officials, and other
interested parties think of trails and
bikeways as community enhancements
similar to underground utilities and
paved roads and develop a policy that
create incentives to encourage private
property owners to grant public trail
easements out of self-interest.
We want to hear from you!
